How can the NHS address health inequalities through innovation? How can new health technologies help improve population health? How can Pharma, Medtech and the wider life sciences industry support the NHS with these goals? And what does the NHS’ ambitions in this area mean for your market access strategy?
Jon Siddall (Chief Executive of the South West Academic Health Science Network [AHSN]) joined Tom Clarke (Director, Mtech Access) to explore these questions and more in our live webinar on Friday 20th August at 2.00 pm.
In our August #WhispersWordsofWisdom webinar, Tom Clarke was joined by Jon Siddall to explore how the NHS can address health inequalities through innovation. Tom asked Jon about the innovations the South West AHSN is working on, how this will impact healthcare systems and what it all means for patients. We also explored how AHSNs are supporting the wider NHS and how industry can best support their work.
Before joining the South West AHSN as CEO in April 2020, Jon spent 3 years as the director of funding at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity, where he led the design and development of the foundation’s £150 million portfolio of urban health programmes focused on some of the biggest health challenges facing cities around the world. During his career Jon has worked with funders, investors and government agencies in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand. His work included 4 years at the South West AHSN, helping to launch the organisation and developing a range of successful innovation programmes.
Jon has also held a range of non-executive roles, including seats on the advisory boards of the NHS Innovation Accelerator, SBRI Healthcare, the Health Innovation Network, the Research and Development Board of Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and the UK Taskforce on Multiple Conditions.
We were delighted to welcome Jon to the Whispers’ Words of Wisdom webinar series.
This webinar forms part of our monthly Whispers’ Words of Wisdom series, in which we have in-depth, comprehensive conversations with senior colleagues from the NHS. We explore what their immediate priorities are, what they see as the greatest challenges currently faced by the NHS, and how the NHS might respond to these challenges.
