The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Consultant to join our friendly team providing subject matter expertise to both NHS and industry clients. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in a dynamic and rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate would have a high work ethic, be team-oriented and hands-on in a varied role. This position can be based in any of our offices.

Working alongside the Director of NHS Insight & Interaction as well as the wider Market Access team, this role will involve a wide variety of duties as follows:

  • Acting as the designated Senior Consultant on projects, work autonomously and deliver a variety of work according to the project specification consistently to a high standard, across a varied range of therapeutic areas and a breadth of deliverables, including but not limited to:
    • Leading and delivering a variety of engagements including, but not limited to, strategic insight generation, value demonstration and market access projects
    • Supporting NHS Engagement with a range of expertise around service development, pathway analysis and benefits realisation
    • Delivering educational presentations
    • Meeting facilitation
    • Leading workshops
    • Acting as a subject matter expert on the NHS
    • Validation of project proposals and deliverables across other Business Units
  • Advising on the strategic direction/shaping of speciality deliverables to ensure these are ‘fit for purpose’ and meet client objectives
  • Formal project management of appropriate projects within NHS Insight & Interaction
  • Managing client accounts and ongoing relationships to maximise business opportunities.
  • Contributing to or leading business development activities within your speciality, such as:
    • Researching and writing proposals
    • Introductory calls with clients
    • Presenting at credentials opportunities or pitches
  • Contributing to, or leading on aspects of, technical and consulting mentorship, including dissemination of skills and knowledge, on- and off-project, and formal training
  • Actively contributing to functional team responsibilities, which may include the development of best practice and standards, development of training resources and facilitation of training sessions, and recruitment into the team
  • Line management would be expected if opportunities exist

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree level educated or equivalent qualifications
  • Up to date knowledge of the NHS, including operational, strategic and policy understanding
  • Experience in a commercial, consulting or industry role
  • Experience working within or very closely with the NHS
  • Business development experience.
  • High level of integrity with a strong understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong planning, organising and time management skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Capable of working in a changing and fast paced work environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, positive attitude with an ability to find effective solutions to issues
  • A commitment to ongoing learning
  • A high work ethic with a can-do attitude towards priorities management

  • Knowledge of acute care and specialised commissioning
