Alex joined Mtech Access in 2024, after working as a Senior Research Fellow in Health Data Sciences at the University of Manchester.
He has published over 48 peer-reviewed papers, focusing on advanced evidence synthesis projects (network meta-analysis, individual patient data meta-analysis, and simulation studies), primary care research using electronic health record data, and policy evaluation.
Alex’s academic specialty lies in primary care patient safety, mental health, workforce well-being, and multimorbidity. His academic focus includes preventing and managing common mental health issues in primary care and public health settings, improving healthcare provider well-being, and enhancing patient care quality and safety. His work addresses health inequalities across the UK through the analysis of large electronic health record datasets and clinical trials, as well as utilisation of complex evidence synthesis methods.
Alex is an honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Manchester. He holds a PhD in Medical Statistics from the University of Liverpool, an MSc in Medical Statistics from Lancaster University, and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Liverpool.
