Rod has over 8 years’ experience as a medical writer, specialising in market access, health technology assessment, and value communication writing and research. He has developed market access materials spanning a broad range of therapy areas for pharmaceuticals, biosimilars, and medical devices, as well as health economic and outcomes research and MedTech training materials. He has worked across several disease areas, including diabetes (and the associated burden of cardiovascular disease), haemophilia, HIV, inflammatory autoimmune diseases, oncology, parenteral nutrition, and respiratory diseases.
Prior to beginning his career in market access, Rod gained several years’ postdoctoral research experience in drug development at the Universities of Glasgow and Oxford; he was also an editor of the University of Oxford’s ‘Phenotype’ magazine.
Rod has a BSc (Honours) in Biochemistry from the University of Dundee and completed his PhD in Molecular Parasitology and Drug Development at the University of Glasgow in collaboration with Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
